Abstract

Management by bottlenecks is a recent mode of management since it goes back to the year 1984, date of the publication of the book “Le But” by E. Goldratt. Through this book, surprising to say the least, the author shares this new approach with us. The form is a novel, and therefore has the enormous advantage of being easy to read and rather user-friendly. On the other hand, in the book, no element really allows us to transpose the concepts to our own industrial environment; the author remaining at the level of principles. The enthusiasm aroused by this book has been and still is important today. However, the implementation of bottleneck management, if it brings significant gains, is not easy. This may be why very few industries use it today. In the article below, after recalling the three major modes of production management, we will endeavor to expose the principles of "Management by Resources of Synchronization” (P.R.S) which, as the reader will be able to see, has many common elements with the management proposed by E. Goldratt, but also some important differences both in the fundamental principles and in the pragmatic mode of implementation . Thirdly, we will develop an example of an application carried out within the CEREC Company.
